So today I spent most of the day playing in the snow with Daniel and the remainder in front of the fire stuffing my face with whatever I could find.
I bought loads of nice things to eat but made the mistake of eating them all yesterday and now getting withdrawals from lack of chocolate!
But this post is all about being grateful and thankful for what we have!
Have you ever had a bad patch where it seems life is throwing everything it possibly can in your face? yeah, it’s not easy. But as everyone says, there is always someone else worse off and its true.
Over the last few days and today especially I’ve been thinking about how lucky I am. As you can see from the pictures I have the most gorgeous little boy! I’m not biased or anything. A home, food, family and friends and health.
On a day like today I think going to bed we should all think about how lucky we are and everything we have to be grateful for. If you are in a house with your family around you and your health you have everything you need. Everything else is just extra.
We take things for granted too much and sometimes we don’t realise that until it becomes too late. I can’t image how the homeless feel on any night never mind in these conditions so we should count ourselves lucky.
When I put Daniel to bed I asked him what he was grateful for and he said his warm bed, a mammy and a daddy and food and then went on to say his curtains and multiple other things in the room, anything to stay up for a bit longer. But it was so nice hearing him talking about it, kids are great they are so happy all the time with no worries. If only we could all be like that.
Sometimes we let life get us down but just be positive, it can always be worse. Always remember that a negative mind will never give you a positive life. We should make more time to tell those around us that we are grateful for them, reach out to others because you never know how much a little bit of help means to someone else and be grateful for the little things because they are what make us happy!
So what are you grateful for ? 💙
